The Hawkins Exhibit- Cultivate the Scientist in Every Child: The Philosophy of Frances and David Hawkins

webhawkinsbanner1We are delighted to announce the opening of Cultivate the Scientist in Every Child: The Philosophy of Frances and David Hawkins, an exhibit that illustrates dynamic approaches to learning and teaching that engage children’s existing curiosity, using readily available materials.

Cultivate the Scientist in Every Child portrays four major elements of David’s educational philosophy: Eolithism; I, Thou, It; Messing About, and Teacher as Learner. Through David and Frances’ own words, explications of their educational approaches, and descriptive photography, the exhibit renders their work both readily available and accessible to the public and an inspiration for further exploration.

The exhibit is designed to include professional development sessions at low cost or no cost to educators, parents, caregivers, and advocates. It also offers the opportunity to create and display a contextual panel that reflects Frances and David’s work relative to the particular educational context of each venue.
